Parent Coaching
We understand the significance of involving parents in the intervention process. Our BCBAs work directly with families to provide crucial parent training. These sessions are designed to equip parents with the necessary knowledge and skills to continue or start the intervention at home.
During these training sessions, our BCBAs will educate parents on the specific strategies and techniques used during the intervention. They will also guide you in creating a nurturing and supportive environment at home, which fosters continued communication, growth, and development for the child.
By involving parents in this way, we aim to ensure consistency and continuity of the intervention. This collaborative approach allows parents to participate actively in their child's progress and empowers them to effectively support their child's learning and development.
BCBA Direct ABA Therapy
In-Home, Clinic, or Community setting
At Mayflower, our BCBAs utilize play-based naturalistic teaching methods when working with children. Play-based teaching is an approach that involves incorporating play into therapy sessions to promote learning and development naturally!
Through play-based naturalistic teaching, BCBAs create opportunities for children to explore and learn through their interests and motivations while at times encountering opportunities that may be challenging and allow for teaching and practice new skills. The BCBAs can effectively teach essential skills such as communication, toleration, cooperation, problem-solving, and more.
By tailoring interventions to each child's needs and preferences, BCBAs ensure that therapy is enjoyable and meaningful. This approach allows for increased engagement, motivation, and generalization of skills learned in therapy to various contexts.
Play-based naturalistic teaching enhances a child's development and encourages positive interactions and relationships between the child, their BCBA, as well as other people. It provides a nurturing and supportive environment where children can learn and grow while being challenged and having fun!
Social Skill Groups
Our Groups are designed and implemented by Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to target specific social skill goals individualized for each child. Your child's BCBA will monitor progress on their goals and adjust the programming as needed to help them succeed. Through engaging, age-appropriate activities including art and games, we will help your child to develop essential social skills. Possible social skills goals may include:
